The dynamic duo checked out so many colorful wares, including candy-hued, Mexican-toy-inspired tables by Paulina Gonzalez-Ortega and Andres Ocejo. These Pirueta Tables and a brilliant bowl made of paper strips are among the pieces currently offered at MoMA's shop as part of Destination Mexico, the tenth in a series of collaborations which highlights emerging designers.
There's also still time to soak up the rich colors of Mexico on view at the Tuscon Museum of Art through June 3, 2012 in two exhibitions: Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray and Frida's Style: Traditional Women's Costumes from Mexico. In Atlanta, we'll be experiencing Frida's aesthetic in 2013. As mentioned back in January, another Frida-related show opens here next year: Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics and Painting comes to the High February 16, 2013 with over 75 of the couple's strongest works.
