For months now, I've been sporadically posting little teasers in anticipation of Weaving Abstraction: Kuba Textiles and the Woven Art of Central Africa (not to mention the bold reminder in the sidebar). With the exhibition opening at The Textile Museum next week, Oct 15, I thought it would be nice to take a look at some of the related items landing in the museum's gift shop.
Clockwise from the top left: blank handmade card using recycled paper from Africa; hand-woven basket by Solidarite\' Rwanda; book of jumbo patterned jungle animals for play and display by Japanese artist Junzo Terada; the exhibition catalogue; and one of an array of kuba cloths available for purchase.
For more on the book, see this past post.
