Carlos Antonio's mixed media leaf, shown above, is an example of the original artwork created by SCAD students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends that will be offered in a silent auction during the third annual SCAD Atlanta Scholarship Gala, Thursday, April 8 at the university’s 1600 Peachtree Street location.
For VIP ticket holders, the event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a collectors’ preview reception, an exclusive "buy it now" auction option and an opportunity to meet honorary chair Cornelia Guest. As you may remember from this past post, the SCAD Museum of Art (in Savannah) owns an extensive array of items (more than 400 objects actually) that once belonged to Guest's mother, fashion icon C.Z. Guest, and select pieces from the museum's C.Z. Guest Costume Collection will be on display in Atlanta during the gala.
