Along with part two of
Muffie's art collection, I'll soon have a great portrait story to share from one of our
favorite editors. Her childhood portrait is quite classic and has little relation to the circa 1960
Bucci above, but
Cole Pratt Gallery has just added to its site even more works from the Mississippi-born artist and I had to share this one:
Untitled Face, oil on paper, 12 x 9 inches, $500.

Over at
Emily Amy Gallery they are gearing up for tomorrow's opening of
Paint as Subject: New Works by Dorothy Goode, James Leonard, Melanie Parke and Carl Plansky. Stop by for the reception on Friday, April 10, from 7 to 10 p.m. Shown second from the top is
Melanie Parke's Beach Party, oil on canvas, 16 x 16 inches.

Looking ahead to June, the mixed media work of New Orleans artist Katie Rafferty will be on view through the month at
Cole Pratt Gallery. The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, June 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Shown above is
Reentry, monotype/mixed media/paper, 14.5 x 14.5 inches, $600.
