Sara Cole's Site

Not too long ago, I mentioned Sara Cole, another terrific artist who happens to be represented in Atlanta by Emily Amy Gallery. Now I want to be sure everyone is aware of Sara's site. You can see a range of her work and learn more about her there.

Sometimes mixing gouache, graphite, and even coffee together on paper, Sara explores different phases of the life cycle. She is fascinated with transformation and regeneration, and there's definitely a lush, organic quality to her pieces. Abstracted images of plant roots and flowers frequently occur. Shown above is End of Beginning IV, courtesy Emily Amy Gallery.

Update 3.11.09
Just stopped by the gallery to take some detail shots. I think you may be able to see a subtle Asian influence in Sara's work.

(Prices for these pieces at EAG are around $1400.)

Sara begins by applying freshly brewed coffee.

Oh, her work is lovely. Somewhat reminiscent of Annie's, but it has its own style and beauty. Thank you for the introduction!
