Textiles, Art History, Gardens, and a Little Mental Traveling with Courtney Barnes 2006-2016

Fields of Flowers

If you plan to be in Hawaii this fall, the exhibition Fields of Flowers: Woven Carpets and Mughal Treasures should be worth a detour. (September 24 through December 12 at The East-West Center Gallery, 1601 East-West Road, Honolulu.) Those amazing stylized Mughal flowers -- part organic, part geometric -- that still inspire textiles today will be on view in decorative arts including a pair of large antique Mughal carpets and other pieces from the collection of Doris Duke.

What a great post Courtney! I have the top pic of the white couch in front of the pink wall and green door. It's so fresh.
Hope you're well.
