Sidewalk Shopping in Atlanta

Over the weekend I spotted a few vintage pieces that were crying out to be taken home by a girl with a chic little empty apartment. The Louis XV-style settee above is currently in the window of Providence Antiques. It would be great as is, or recovered with a lively pattern.

Also available at Providence on North Highland, this loaded-with-potential caned chair.

That settee is great... It would look great in a bedroom or a sitting room. The colour is so interesting, too... Could be almost a purple grey.

Hi Fairfax,
It's probably the sunlight or my camera -- in person it is a nice Dior grey, silvery :)

The Louis XV-style sofa is gorgeous, and I really loved the little table with the green base next to it. Gorgeous! I hope you've had a great weekend :-)

Yes, the glass top table with green base is fun! Hope you had a great weekend too :)

Don't get me wrong, I love the beach. But boy do I miss shopping in Atlanta. Sometimes I think I need a 12-step meeting. Thanks for sharing some of what you saw today. [sniffle sniffle]

Wow, I've never thought to take the time to hit the streets when I am in Atlanta for market. For me it has been Delta, the MARTA, the Mart, the MARTA, and Delta all the way home. Thank you so much for showing me that I am missing the best part!! This July will find me on the streets hoping to duplicate your exciting finds!!

The little French sofa is gorgeous! I'd love to see it in a floral on the front seat and front back and a stripe on the outside back but that grey linen is divine too for a more simple look!! XX Anna

What a beautiful settee! Very coincidental, as I just did a massive post this weekend about settees. This one has beautiful lines.

I had never been to this store until you wrote about it last year, and it really is a treasure trove of lovely antiques and vintage finds.

Ooh I LOVE the settee and can't decide whether I'd be French or English with it! Probably French and leave it as is, and toss on some fun pillows so a bit of English too ;) Great find!
