Throw Down

A while ago a reader asked about throws; I neglected to mention one great source for cozy chic items: Calypso. The alpaca samples above range from $200-225. I especially love the 12" creme-colored border on the cappuccino, top, and the long fringe on the orange.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but there was an article in the NY Post this past Sunday about a woman suing Calypso because her skirt caught fire. Apparently it went up like she was a wick and supposedly it's because the Calypso skirt was extremely flammable. Although it might be pretty we never think about "oh what if it happens to catch a candle!"

I am a regular reader and just wanted people to be aware!

just a quick note: I believe these throws are100 percent wool :)

The orange throw could be a great option for those of us pining away for an orange Hermes throw!

Oh, that shade of orange is glorious.

Thanks for the Around the World book reco. It looks fascinating. Makes me want to dig into family archives and hunt down my grandparents' travel logs and photos from their early 20th-C. journeys.

Will be back for your review!

Great scarves. I am particularly liking the Pom Pom in orange on their web-site and for $50.00 it's a bargain and fun too.

I love throws... I got a beautiful cream cashmere one from Bluefly. It's a herringbone weave with fringe. Lovely...

and it's probably flamable, too!
