The High's Masterpiece of the Month

Above, detail of Bust of Marie Antoinette, 1782, by the Sèvres Porcelain Factory, currently on view at the High Museum of Art in the Louvre Atlanta galleries.

This Thursday, April 5, at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., the High Museum offers a free lecture on the Bust of Marie Antoinette. With the Museum open after hours,* visitors can take a relaxed walk through the Louvre Atlanta galleries. Don't miss the hand-made paper costumes created by artist Isabelle de Borchgrave. Representing Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI, these costumes even feature paper wigs and shoes, and are displayed on mannequins surrounded by pieces of the Sèvres dessert service that was used at Versailles. Precious furniture collected by the French kings and queens is also on view.

* The High Museum of Art is open from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
