Taschen publishing selected the dining room above for the cover of their book, Paris Style. If you like the design too, it can be yours for a week or so. The room is part of the sixth arrondissement "Gigi" apartment, one of many furnished Paris residences available for rent through Chez Vous.
I love how the dining room seems somehow grand and comfortably casual at the same time. All of the contrasts here -- light with dark, delicate with heavy, electric chartreuse with somber grey -- really work. And those neoclassical style dining chairs have such beautifully curved backs.
To create a similar look in your own home, Anthropologie's hand-carved, mahogany Basel dining table, shown below, has an ultra dark finish and very bold, sculptural legs.
