If the question involves Paisley, no doubt Etro has the answer. The Italian fashion and fabric house has a library composed of over two thousand antique and vintage books housed in its company headquarters on Via Spartaco. There is even a Paisley matching game on Etro's unusual web site.

Etro's plasticized Paisley and leather handbags were among the trophy bags of the 1980s, and these days the company makes Paisley tabletop items, pillows, bedding, dog beds...well, you get the picture.

For me, an exciting find on Etro's site is the book, Cachemires parisiens, 1810-1880 It is the exhibition catalog for a 1998 show at the Fashion Museum of the Palais Galliera in Paris in which 95 antique French-made cashmere shawls were displayed. More than a third of the shawls were from Etro's private collection.

If you are interested in the book but can't get it through Barnes & Noble or U.S. Amazon, try French Amazon or Google the title to find rare art book dealers who have it in stock.
