Listen and Look

[Hinckley's Thoughts Rearrange 2, oil on canvas]

Thirteenth generation Cape Codder, and now Brooklyn-based, painter Sarah Hinckley will have a solo exhibition at the Cape Cod Museum of Art: Stillness of Remembering opens next week, July 17, continuing through September 8, 2013. Seventeen abstract works inspired by the landscapes she grew up with comprise the show. While her color field paintings are mainly informed by the sea, sky, color, light and land she experienced, music informs her process too. The oil posted here relates to Holly Golightly's There's an End from her bluesy album Truly She is None Other and also the Broken Flowers soundtrack.
