Silvern Threads

This 16th-century kemha (or lampas-woven silk) fragment is from The Met, not the V & A, but it makes me think of something that the British designer Arthur Silver might have reproduced for his Victorian Silvern Series (a compilation of South Kensington textiles intended to inspire his clients, including Liberty of London). It's Turkish with metallic wrapped threads, and more complete views can be seen here.
