Shane Connolly (think trees in Westminster Abbey) will speak at the de Young on Tuesday, March 13 at 1:30 p.m., and again on Wednesday, March 14 at 10 a.m., as part of Bouquets to Art, the museum's annual floral exhibition and fundraiser. On view during the five-day San Francisco tradition are arrangements inspired by the de Young’s permanent art collection; this year visitors will see work from 150 floral designers.
Connolly -- not only did he design all floral decorations for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge but he also serves the V & A and the Royal Academy of Arts -- is among the creative talents invited to demonstrate technique. Tickets are $35 each and include general admission to the museum.
