Nine Years of Textiles, Art History, Gardens, and a Little Mental Traveling with Courtney Barnes

Up Next: Paisley

Next we'll take a look at an array of paisleys including antique and vintage textiles along with new productions. Shown here: Liberty's Felix Raison D Tana Lawn from the Rock and Roll Paisley group, which is part of Liberty Art Fabrics and represents a collaboration with Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. The print is a more graphic interpretation of archival paisleys from the mid-19th century.

Of course, as the print collection's name implies, paisley also has strong ties to the 20th-century music scene -- especially the 1960s. And that brings me to the Third Annual Sankofa Society Soiree: The Soul of Rock & Roll scheduled for August 27 at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Click here to learn more.

I just found a book at Book Thing called "Decorating with Liberty Fabrics". Probably a bit dated, but should be a fun read, nevertheless.
