Summer in the City: Charleston

[Photo on the right by CarolinaPhotosmith for the Gibbes Museum of Art.]

If you have plans to be in Charleston this summer, there's still time left to see Modern Masters from the Ferguson Collection, on view through August 22 at the Gibbes Museum of Art. The work shown above is Femme dans un fauteuil, 1956, by Pablo Picasso. In addition to Picasso, other artists represented in the private collection of Esther and James Ferguson include Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, and Auguste Rodin.

I have recently been reintroduced to Pablo, what an interesting character!

Thanks!
