Palettes of Leather II

As a follow up to this post, I wanted to share more buttery leather samples from Virginia-based Moore & Giles.

Pouring over the samples is as fun as browsing aisle after aisle of paint at the art supply store. But of course the natural Moore & Giles swatches are oh-so-touchable. Just as soft as can be.

If you're itching to recover a chair to emulate Tara Guérard's vintage version (found in a Charleston antique mall by Nicki Clendening of Scout Designs), I think M & G would be a great place to start. "Bell Pepper" from the Boulevard collection is dark and rich, while high polish "Kiwi" and "Avocado" from the Absolute collection are incredibly lush. "Green Apple" from Boulevard is another contender. I'm barely scratching the surface here.

Moore & Giles bags are sold online and at retail shops across the U.S. which are listed on the website. For upholstery leather inquiries, see the reps on the contact page or email And again, a new site featuring the full range of offerings is scheduled to launch at the end of the month.

By the way, Haskell Harris was ahead of the curve with the M & G bags. Click here to see. And there are two talented women behind Scout Designs: Callie Jenschke and Nicki Clendening.

I'm working on a chair for my studio as well. Thinking about animal print or red.

Brilliant colors by M & G and the bags...the bags. Quick, fetch me the doctor's bag - croc embossed.

I learned about M&G recently at the Met Home Showhouse in SF. They are amazing! These colors are stunners.
