The wrapping inspiration continues. Children's textile designer Stacy McCallum always wraps from a fabric-centric point of view. She incorporates handmade touches, recycles material, and enjoys going the extra mile for baby presents.

Boxed gifts: Stacy wraps in glossy white paper from Target. "I hand-tear (faster and straighter than cutting). Then I quickly iron a five-inch wide piece of fabric for a dramatic bow. The white always looks chic and the wide fabric bow gives a hint to what is inside!"

Bagged gifts: "I stitch up a quick tulle drawstring bag to hold a gift with multiple pieces (a blanket, bib, burp cloths etc.). For the bag's string I use a wide piece of pinked coordinating material."

Gift Tags: "I recycle an old card, using the blank half, and Mod-Podge some fabric on the top. When it dries I pink the edges. Sometimes I shape it like a vintage hang tag and punch a whole in the top then run another thin piece of coordinating fabric through the hole for the tie."

Victoria (SF Victoria) has some whimsical ideas that require less handiwork. She favors mismatched paisley, plaid, and pink or other off-beat colors. When she hand-knits scarves for family and friends, she often tucks them in colored plastic mesh fruit bags, or in strawberry baskets, with pretty tissue paper and ribbon.

That's pretty Mary Genevieve at the top, visiting her grandparents in Augusta. The Moretz house is ideal for holiday decorating.

Afterthought: I'm missing a cover with this spirit, for 2008, but I thought Gennie's picture helped make up the gap.

Those fabrics are absolutely adorable! I love the urns and went to her site and found topiaries too. Thanks for the great tips!

The prettiest thing in this post is adorable little Mary Genevieve! What a doll--and the dining room looks divine too!

That opening picture just stopped me in my tracks! What a smile and what a house ... I've used mesh bags from fruit and from flower bulbs and they were a surprising hit.

Ms. Wis -- great to hear from someone else who has used the mesh bags! I imagine they could be surprisingly chic :)

Great ideas.

My grandmother uses a vintage children's wallpaper to wrap gifts. It is so heavy that it folds beautifully and it is a delight to see under the tree.
