When I was a teenager I discovered Jackie Kennedy's circa 1961 tromp l'oeil dressing room doors while flipping through one of my grandmother's old books about the White House. As Michelle Adams explained a while back, Jackie commissioned French artist Pierre-Marie Rudelle to depict her favorite things.
I've always thought it would be fun to do something similar, on a much smaller scale. So I asked artist Anne Harwell to render a few of my favorite things. The objects all have personal meaning -- I wasn't trying to wow anyone else. And I'm thrilled with Anne's charming interpretation. For me it's in the spirit of Mark Hampton: The Art of Friendship.

Anne and Courtney - I love this! I love how you always have the prettiest vignettes and now to have it done by Anne is so special. What a great idea. Just wonderful both of you!

Thanks for the positive words Joni - much appreciated!
Total perfection - and I love how she added the reflection of the chair - see, you can have it all!
welcome back Patricia! I forgot to post the final photo I sent Anne, with the chair. Good eye.
WOW, and thank you for the mention! I'm absolutely in LOVE with the colors- the light blue with the red especially, and the pops of green and black! This is gorgeous. I think I need to start saving and commission a piece for myself! Great post, and thanks again :)
