This is Benton Weinstock's home office, as seen in House Beautiful, September 2005. We've all seen similar white bookcases and bulletin boards like this before, but note how decorator Ruthie Sommers mixed in a sleek sawhorse style desk (formerly her own) along with a glamorous lamp and accessories. (Click image to enlarge and better see the trad sofa and rug too.)

Here's a detail shot of another popular Ruthie Sommers-designed office.

And again, the view that appeared in California Style Magazine, August 2006.
Pink Wallpaper has posted the Weinstock office before too. I included it here to make connections.

I never put it together that this was the same room. Both ways are enviable. I briefly courted the idea of a glass or lucite desk top, but then I remembered my distaste for visible cords. Love the look though--and those peonies in a silver pitcher are gorgeous!
Millie, I agree just the julep cups for pencils and silver pitcher add so much!
BTW: I think these are two different offices where some of the same furniture was used.
To clarify, as I understand it, Benton's office has some pieces from the wallpapered office.
All of the photos are gorgeous!! And what a wonderful environment in which to work.
oh my gosh, you are killing me...i am trying to figure out what wallpaper that is...i think i have it, i just can't pin point which manufactor it is!!!
That would make one want to go to work!
Ah--that would explain the window that magically appeared in the 2nd shot.
: )
Now if only my "office" were that neat... Struggling with finding a good desk lamp and hiding the power cords, myself. The Virginia cup is a permanent fixture for the pencils and fountain pens on my desk. In polished pewter, alas.
Really love the way that the bookcases have the subtle pink painted backs. Reminds me of a conch shell. And ties everything together nicely. Details...
Easy and Elegant,
My cups are pewter too :)
To me it looks like the paper called Decadence by Harlequin, which is under the Zoffany umbrella. I have a piece of it hanging on my bulletin board b/c I considered it for a bathroom. Love it!
Yes the paper is a Harlequin paper. It is a gorgeous paper. I have used it before as a feature wall in a bedroom. I Love these photos you have posted Courtney!! The office at top is gorgeous!
