If you haven't visited the Cote de Texas this week, Joni offers a fabulous whirlwind tour of the Round Top Antique Festival. One of her favorite booths featured Asian and African goodies. (Joni nabbed a Chinese calligraphy brush like Kelly Wearstler's.)
It's fascinating to make connections between objects spotted out at the antique fairs and pieces that end-up in top designers' homes. Joni is skilled at identifying trends, which makes her tours especially fun. To learn a bit more about Ethiopian crosses, click here.

Wow - thanks! I read Joni's post, and was wondering how these items might look in a room context. You saved me a lot of time looking through my files!
you're welcome sarah :)
Blush! Courtney you are the sweetest! You know, it's funny but I never knew about those brushes in Kelly's house until I got home and just happened to look in her book and wow, there they were. She has so many and I think that's how they look best, rather than just one like me! Maryam wrote me a comment that she loved that booth too. It just stood out above the others, I suppose because it was different, but also it was just so beautiful. Thanks again for the shout out!

Joni,
It was such a great post (your tour). I felt like I was there.
I adore those things.....! I have a zebra rug and zebra pillows. I also have 15 coptic crosses .... A bit nutty, I know.:-)
Hey, rather then the standard wooden stands, the iron ones are a great idea for displaying horse hair calligraphy brushes! Usually people display them lying on a table or something. Never thought about hanging them... Chinese calligraphy brushes seem to be a hot seller though recently. Definitely a good decor item. We have had so many of them ship out this past year or two.
