Here's an item for my wish list: a Qing dynasty, Daoguang period (1821-1850) bowl, decorated with white bamboo against a brick-red ground, and available through Gotheborg.com. If you are a design or art history student, or a collector, Gotheborg is a must visit. The site offers what is believed to be the largest database on Chinese and Japanese antique porcelain available on the Web.

Ohhh, what a great post! There really is nothing quite like a beautiful, detailed porcelain piece... a work of art unto itself.
I adore Late Meiji (late 1800's) Japanese style plates and bowls. The designs are so intricate and stunning. Truly a treasured heirloom...
Great job!

Great website, many thanks for the introduction to Gotheborg. So many fantastic pieces, so little time.
